About us

Disabled Motoring UK is a membership charity that represents the interests of disabled motorists. It is a disabled people led organisation run by and for disabled people. The charity aims and objectives are to assist disabled people with their personal independent mobility.

As well as assisting disabled people with their personal mobility, the charity also campaigns on behalf of all disabled motorists to overcome the barriers and obstacles associated with driving and access to goods and services.

The organisation provides an information service to its members and produces a bi-monthly membership magazine. The organisation is a stakeholder with many government agencies and other motoring related bodies.

The charity also runs an accreditation which audits car parks for accessibility which is growing every day, with over a thousand car parks accredited to date.

Disabled Motoring UK was formed in 1922 and has rich history of assisting disabled people with their personal mobility for over a hundred years.

The charity also has a long history of successful campaigning which has helped disabled motorists over the decades to overcome barriers and improve their experience of motoring on UK roads. The charity continues its vital work and is actively engaged in representing motorists with disabilities in the transition to electric vehicles.
