Can I ask for reasonable adjustments in my application?
Regardless of whether you choose to disclose or not disclose your disability when applying for roles on Patchwork Hub, it’s your right as an applicant to request reasonable adjustments during the application and recruitment process.
If you would like to request reasonable adjustments there are several ways to do this:
Applying for a job on the Patchwork Hub website
When applying for a job on Patchwork Hub’s website directly, you will be able to inform the employer that you require adjustments when completing your application.
After clicking the Apply Now button on a job, simply tick the box ‘Please check this box if you have a disability or long term health condition and need extra support or adjustments in the recruitment process.’
Employers will then be informed as part of your application that they should reach out to you to confirm how they can accommodate your adjustments.
Applying for a job on an employer's external website.
If you are applying for a job which has taken you to an organisation’s external website, there should also be an opportunity for you to include adjustments information in your application.
If there doesn’t seem to be any option to do this, we recommend finding the contact details of the hiring manager to inform them of your application and the adjustments required.
We try to ensure that all employers who use our platform offer a clear route for candidates to request reasonable adjustments. However, if at any point in the process you’ve felt that you’ve not had the opportunity to do so, we’d like to know about it. Please get in touch via [email protected] or use our Contact page.
