How accessible is Patchwork Hub?

Patchwork Hub is committed to making our platform as accessible as possible. As a social enterprise led by disabled people, accessibility and inclusion are core to our mission. We believe digital accessibility is a right, not a privilege. Therefore, we strive for our website, communications, content and services to meet and exceed accessibility standards.

Our site is developed to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 Level AA and we are striving to be technically compliant to Level AAA. These guidelines are the internationally recognised benchmark for building accessible websites.

This website is partially conformant with Level AA/AAA, which means that most of the website meets the requirements for Level AA accessibility. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colour schemes and fonts using browser or device settings
  • zoom in to increase text size without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

As an organisation, we’re aspiring to become the only non-disability-specific job board to reach Level AAA of digital accessibility. In doing so, we hope to push non-disability-specific job boards to make their websites more accessible. Though we've come a long way in achieving this, we recognise that there is still much to learn and improve.

For that reason, we always welcome feedback from anyone using our platform. If you have suggestions, issues or expertise in order to help us improve the accessibility of our website, please get in touch using our contact form or website feedback form.
