Shape cyber security training
The Governance Assurance Officer is a brand-new role, which gives you the opportunity to shape it into your own. You will support the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and the wider team in the delivery of the CISO Strategy and Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO) work plan. This role involves managing enquiries, supporting teams, and keeping training on information and cyber security up to date.
You will work with subject matter experts to review their training materials twice a year, ensuring that it stays relevant. Plus, identify knowledge gaps and create videos and e-learning for targeted and organisation wide audiences.
You will be the owner of our Supplier Assurance policy, guidance and training material. To ensure that it is aligned with best practice, take a leading role in identifying risks and stay on top of changes to government policy and guidance around Supply Chain Security. This area is increasingly impacted by AI, so we’d like you to take the time to understand the liabilities of the AI supplied to us; this will be a significant, serious responsibility. You’ll also draft and send out communications to inform the wider organisation of best practice around supplier assurance.
Compliance will be a central focus of your role. To ensure that all runs smoothly, you will conduct regular monitoring, reporting and assessments. Attending meetings where evidence of our compliance should be provided.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with a wide range of colleagues, make your mark in cyber security training, learn more and progress in your career.
Bring administrative skills, a technical mind, and a willingness to learn
We’re looking for a detail-orientated candidate with a strong willingness to learn and take responsibility. You are technically minded and open to progressing with AI and how it could work within teams, bringing fresh ideas, persistence and patience. As you may encounter people who are resistant to adopting new processes, we’d like you to be skilled at challenging them and carefully easing any friction.
Strong IT literacy with extensive practical experience of the Microsoft Office Suite will be key to your success. Plus, you’ve kept up-to-date and accurate data, which you’ve analysed and used to produce clear, concise reports featuring narrative and visuals. You’re able to draft, author and interpret policy, guidance and process documentation.
Excellent communication skills are essential. You’re able to influence stakeholders at all levels, in writing and verbally.
You can confidently complete administrative tasks. As well as multi-task and work with minimal supervision.
Discover the support you need to grow your career further
But we’re always looking to improve – just like you. That’s why when you join us, expect to receive a competitive salary, good holiday entitlement and a Civil Service Pension. Along with this, you’ll also have access to training and other development opportunities to help grow your career with us.
