About the role
As an Investment Risk Manager with an ESG tilt, working in close proximity with investment teams, you will provide support for the appropriate implementation and ongoing development of our sustainability and ESG related risk management framework
Whilst your primary focus will be on ESG-related risks management, you will also assist in the continued development of 2nd Line of Defence (L2) investment risk and regulatory risk activities.
Reporting to the Head of ManCo Risk Management, you will assist in:
Strengthening PAM’s ESG-related risk management oversight and control framework.
Designing key risk and controls to identify, measure, and manage ESG-related risks associated with fund’s investment strategies.
Assisting with the continued development and implementation of PAM’s ESG-related risk policy.
Ensuring that regulatory risks and investment risks are identified and appropriately managed for PAM funds and investment mandates.
Routinely monitoring portfolios, analysing investment risks and portfolio deviations.
Maintaining and updating fund risk profiles and ensuring that policies and procedures related to these activities are updated and maintained.
Ensuring that issues identified are escalated in a timely manner.
Contributing to risk reporting to the governing bodies (e.g. executive management, Board of Directors).
Contributing to preparation of responses to regulators’ requests about risk-related topics.
Person specification
University degree or equivalent qualification.
3 to 5 years' prior experience in investment and regulatory risk management in the asset management industry with a sound understanding of ESG regulatory requirements, and ESG related risks. You will have acquired experience implementing ESG Risk Management frameworks and have practical experience of managing ESG-related risks.
In-depth understanding of the asset management industry (portfolio management, trading, administration and fund distribution).
Sound understanding of the regulatory environments in which PAM operations, including Switzerland, Luxembourg, and the UK.
Skilled user of standard IT applications (MS Office).
Coding experience is an asset (Python and/or other coding languages).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
As the successful applicant, you are motivated and passionate about sustainability topics. You will be proactive, disciplined and have a structured mindset; able to identify, analyse and solve issues.
You will also have strong problem-solving skills coupled with an ability to develop creative approaches, models and systems. In addition, you will possess strong interpersonal skills, and be team orientated.
CFA, CAIA or FRM would be an advantageous.
Fluent in English. French and German would be an asset.
This role can be based in either London or Geneva.
